What do you do?

What do you do when it’s been a while since you have been to the gym, and you have had ‘stuff’ going on?
When your motivation is waning and those new years resolutions have tapered off?
When it’s been easier to just grab something on the go or your social life has taken a busy turn?
When actually it just all seems like to much effort?
When actually sitting in your pjs, drinking tea, eating biscuits and watching endless tv is just way more appealing?

I guess that makes you human then, and I think it might be time to give yourself a break.  It sounds like it might also be time to start turning it round again, as that feeling of sluggishness and low energy is getting a bit much now.

I think we all go through phases like this, especially at this time of year when you are desperate for some sun and warmth and longer days, and now that we are in March there is a glimmer of light at the end of that long, dark wintery tunnel.  Bring it on I say!

So what do you do then?  Well you might be an all or nothing person and throw yourself back into training 4/5 times a week and cut out those biscuits and cut down the social life etc.  Or you might want to take a slower approach and master the approach of sustainability, or lifestyle change for good.  Go out for a walk, aim for a short session at the gym and see how you go, drink some hot water along with an occasional cup of tea, have an early night, try and make a soup on a Sunday or make more ideal food choices if out or grabbing something.  It’s the small things that amount up.

You know this though don’t you?! Listen to yourself and look for the positive.

Here is a quick circuit you can try to get those energy levels up and will only take 15 mins.

Jog on Spot (high knees)
Press ups
Squats
Mountain Climbers (fast)

5 rounds of 30 secs back to back with a minute rest after the mountain climbers before you start again.
Have fun!
